Green Team official charter
Interdisciplinary education with focus on organic gardens, healthy food/nutrition locally sourced, sustainability including reduce/reuse/recycle. STEM, Common Core, and Next Generation Science Standards alignment covering K-12. We respond to requests by teachers, staff, students and parents for help implementing their green ideas; we provide expertise and labor, make connections, and supply other resources and support.
1) Increase interdisciplinary education about
a) organic gardening,
b) healthy food and nutrition,
d) reduce, reuse, recycle.
2) The intent is to integrate the program with Common Core by applying these principles and practices in conjunction with STEM programs, including AP Environmental Science and Earth Clubs.
3) Act as and provide resources to Pleasant Hill teachers on all things Green.
Began meeting in April 2013; meet monthly at different schools.
Meetings are held the last Tuesday of the month at 4 PM. Parents, teachers, students, local business people welcome. For more information, contact Liz Fisher,
